AC Milan is interested again to sign Arsenal loanee. Folarin Balogun, who is on loan from Arsenal, has reportedly piqued AC Milan’s attention once again as a result of his impressive play for Ligue 1 outfit Stade de Reims, according to the Daily Mail. Balogun progressed through the youth programs of the Gunners before going on loan to France. With 14 goals, the 21-year-old is presently Ligue 1’s leading scorer. He has outperformed celebrities like Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Lionel Messi.
When he was a member of the Gunners’ youth teams, AC Milan was interested in the player. Only two senior appearances for the club headquartered in north London have been made by the English striker born in New York. Balogun, though, has demonstrated his talent this year for Reims. The England under-21 standout has 15 goals and two assists through 23 games. The Rossoneri are keeping an eye on the player’s status as a result of his strong run of form.
Once the player returns from the loan, Arsenal may try to sell him. His future has not yet been decided. Given that Balogun’s contract with the Premier League’s top team still has time left, they might try to capitalize on the situation by selling Balogun.
Folarin Balogun received glowing accolades from Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for his outstanding performance. Arteta addressed the reporters (via the Gunners’ official website) before the team’s Premier League matchup against Brentford: “I’m extremely delighted for him. He’s a boy who has a really clear notion of what he wants to do with his future. He has great courage, commitment, and ambition. Before he made that decision, we talked extensively about whether that was the best place for him to go and his other options. He truly believed it. He deserves everything he’s getting, therefore I’m genuinely glad for him.”
Arteta continued when discussing the confidence the Gunners have placed in Balogun: “While you look at the figures and what he is accomplishing, it’s unbelievable. That happens extremely infrequently. But because of something about him, we chose to give him a long-term contract, have faith in him, and give him the time he needs right now. This is because the loan he is currently receiving is very different from the one he had at Middlesbrough previously.”
Balogun’s evolution was further explained by the Spaniard, who added: “He had some scars from that time. He went through phases where he struggled, played, and didn’t play. There have been times when he has played outside of his preferred position. He abandoned all those justifications and moved on to the subsequent experience. He put that in the past, but he went on to the next one by employing exactly what had worked and what hadn’t for him. He did that exceptionally effectively.”
