Felix will move said Atletico Madrid boss Simeone. Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico Madrid, added fuel to speculation that Joao Felix is up for sale by acknowledging that no player is too precious to let go. After Atletico chairman Gil Marin acknowledged that the player might go on, it is anticipated that the Portuguese will leave Madrid. Simeone, who said that nobody is larger than the club Wednesday night, has done nothing but fuel rumors.
Felix just had a strong World Cup, collaborating nicely with Bruno Fernandes in a more fluid Portuguese style. Arsenal and PSG are apparently interested in signing the 23-year-old, but the club reportedly wants a substantial fee, which is said to be more than €100 million (£87 million/$106 million).
Simeone acknowledged that Felix might go in January but vowed to work hard to make the most of the talent going forward: “Nobody is necessary, and events will unfold as they must. For us, it is incredibly significant. He had a successful World Cup, contributing to goals with the significance his coach assigned to him. We can only hope that Joao will perform to his greatest potential at the World Cup. We can only hope that we offer him the serenity and happiness he needs to demonstrate in the game what he saw during the World Cup.”
Felix joined Atletico in 2019 for a club-record €126 million (£111 million/$133 million), although he never really hit his stride there. The player has never established a regular berth in the lineup because of Simeone’s strict system, which has been criticized for inhibiting his creative instincts. After a successful World Cup and with three years left on his deal, Felix’s market value may have never been higher. It appears likely that the Portuguese midfielder will depart Real Madrid, either soon or at some point in the near future.
