Odegaard may not be happy with Joao Felix’s move. Martin Odegaard might not like Arsenal signing Joao Felix, according to the legendary Liverpool player. Arsenal has been forewarned by Liverpool great Steve Nicol not to sign Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix during the forthcoming transfer window. The Portugal international has been connected to numerous teams, including Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur. Nicol, though, has advised the Gunners to avoid the former SL Benfica forward.
Felix, in his opinion, would compete with in-form club captain Martin Odegaard and does not match Arsenal’s present system. Nicol said: “Odegaard wouldn’t be overly pleased, do you think? It doesn’t seem to fit properly. I enjoy how things are going right now. The fact that Jesus is hurt is regrettable. But everything they have going now looks to be in order. I believe Joao Felix’s entry could slightly escalate the situation.”
For Arteta, the injury to Gabriel Jesus up front has been problematic. The Brazilian international underwent surgery after suffering an injury while representing his country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. In Jesus’ absence, Eddie Nketiah has Arteta’s support to step up and seize the moment. Although the English striker has only started 19 Premier League games in his career, the reality remains that he lacks significant experience on a large stage.
Additionally, Arsenal and Manchester City are vying for the Premier League championship. If they want to win their first league championship in 19 years, they cannot make any compromises, especially when it comes to scoring goals. After 14 games, Arsenal is five points ahead of the pack in the league standings.
