PSG and Bayern Munich are in a race to sign Juventus winger. According to reports, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and Bayern Munich will compete for the services of Juventus winger Federico Chiesa. The two European powerhouses are reportedly interested in signing the Italy international, which has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield.
Since Juventus won’t be playing in the Champions League next season, Chiesa has become a highly sought-after player this summer. Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp is said to have a keen interest in the Italian genius.
As reported earlier this week by Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus has set a £52 million asking price for Chiesa this summer. Liverpool, meanwhile, is unwilling to spend more than £38 million on the champion of the 2020 European Championship.
The Reds might now face competition for the 25-year-old’s signing from clubs like PSG and Bayern Munich. The winger has also been connected to Newcastle United.
In 2020, Chiesa signed a two-year loan agreement with Juventus worth £8.5 million from Fiorentina. Last summer, he acquired a permanent transfer for £34 million after making an impression at the Old Lady.
Despite his reputation for speed and his prowess against opponents, Chiesa has recently suffered from ailments. Over the past two seasons, the Italian has missed a total of 62 games.
In just 2686 minutes of activity over the past couple of seasons, he has eight goals and 10 assists. In 94 appearances for Juventus in all competitions to date, Chiesa has tallied 22 goals and 20 assists.
With alternatives like Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, and Darwin Nunez out wide, Liverpool has a lot of skill on the flanks. Chiesa may still significantly boost the Reds’ offensive quality and potency, though.
Nicolo Barella clarifies his transfer stance following Liverpool’s interest:
Despite Liverpool’s interest, Inter Milan striker Nicolo Barella reportedly won’t try to leave the club this summer. This month, several media publications have suggested that the Reds are interested in the Italian international.
Despite being aware of the Reds’ interest, Barella won’t force a move away from San Siro, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via the Mirror). Three more years are left on the contract of the Euro 2020 champion with the Nerazzurri.
Along with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United have been mentioned in connection with a transfer for the former Cagliari star. Barella is thought to be worth roughly £80 million to Inter Milan.
In addition to helping Inter Milan win the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana and get to the UEFA Champions League final, Barella had a standout season with the Serie A powerhouses last year. He participated in 52 games across different competitions, scoring nine goals and dishing out ten assists from midfield.
