Juventus defeated Cagliari 3:1 away in the 27th round of the Italian Serie A. It was the Old Lady’s fifth consecutive league game without defeat. Andrea Pirlo’s charges are still in the fight for the Scudetto, although they are still behind the teams from Milan.
In the 10th minute already Ronaldo opened the score, using a pass from Juan Cuadrado. Less than a quarter of an hour later it was already 2:0 and again CR7 was in the starring role. Ronaldo stepped up to the ball at the eleven-meter line and took a powerful shot into the left corner to increase the score after Alessio Cragno fouled an opponent in his own penalty area.
In the 32nd minute, Federico Chiesa made a clever pass to Cristiano Ronaldo in the box, and completing his hat trick before the break the Portuguese scored for the third time with a flat shot.
The hosts tried to make up for the loss after the change of sides. In the 61st minute, they finally managed to beat Wojciech Szczesny, who capitalized on Giovanni Simeone’s strike.
Five minutes later, it got hot again in the visitors’ penalty area, Joao Pedro fell in a clash with a defender and Cagliari players demanded a penalty kick, but the referee remained adamant.
A few minutes later, in a similar situation, Cristiano Ronaldo demanded a penalty kick, but again the whistle was silent.
The score remained unchanged at the end of the meeting, and Juventus recorded on his account certain three points, still remaining in the game for the championship.
