Chelsea will reportedly concentrate on signing Jonathan Ikone from Lille if they fail to reach an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Kai Havertz.
The Blues remain locked in negotiations with Leverkusen over a deal for Havertz, who’s supposedly keen to drive a move to Stamford Bridge through.
However, according to Le 10 Sport, the longer discussions drag on the more likely Chelsea is to look elsewhere and Ikone is considered as an alternative option.
Previously, Ikone was known as Borussia Dortmund’s target.
Four-cap France International registered three goals and six Ligue 1 assists from last term attacking midfield.
Lille is expected to value the 22-year-old at around £32m mark – a significant saving on the £90m Leverkusen is after the flexible Havertz fellow attacker.
After spells with Montpellier and Paris Saint-Germain where he started his career, Ikone spent the last two seasons at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
