Austria has reportedly asked a Chelsea player about joining their team. Carney Chukwuemeka, a midfielder for Chelsea, has been approached by Austria about switching from England.
The 19-year-old Chukwuemeka can play for England, Austria, or Nigeria. He has, however, played 24 times for the Three Lions at the U18, U19, and U20 levels. In September, he led their U20 team to a 3-0 victory over Chile.
Ralf Rangnick has played for England, but according to talkSPORT, Austria is attempting to persuade him to change nations. Rangnick, a former interim manager for Manchester United, is recognized for his work with young athletes. He oversaw the initiation of Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga into the Red Devils’ first team.
Chukwuemeka moved to Chelsea from Aston Villa last summer for a cost of £20 million. In the Premier League thus far this year, he has made 11 appearances. His birth in Eisenstadt makes him eligible for Austria. His parents, who are both from Nigeria, immigrated to England when he was a little child.
It is unknown if Chukwuemeka will think about changing his nationality. But if he does, it won’t be the first time that England has been passed by eligible players.
Jamal Musiala, a wunderkind from Bayern Munich who represented the Three Lions at the U21, U17, U16, and U15 levels, decided to represent Germany instead. Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace, who previously played for Cote d’Ivoire, won two caps for England’s senior side.
Mason Mount appears to be out for the remainder of the year:
Mason Mount, a midfielder for Chelsea, suffered a pelvic injury and is essentially sidelined for the remainder of the season. He underwent a quick surgery to get the agony under control.
This week, interim Blues manager Frank Lampard acknowledged that Mount’s chances of playing again this year are slim: “Potentially for the season’s final game, but probably not.”
Lampard continued: “Mason has had this pelvic ailment for a time; it dates back to before I was born. We’ve tried and the medical team has tried, but we’ve reached the point where he will need a little operation.”
A new Instagram post from Mount updating followers on his rehabilitation has just been published. In the hospital bed, he posted a photo of himself giving the thumbs up and wrote: “Experienced a little surgery yesterday to address some discomfort I experienced. Everything went smoothly, and I’m in high spirits. Can’t wait to resume training in the upcoming weeks as it is time to recuperate now.”
There is growing speculation over Mount’s future, and Chelsea’s departure is predicted.
The English forward, who has just under a year left on his contract, is expected to be signed by Liverpool. Due to his poor performance, he has had a challenging season, with just three goals and six assists in 35 games across all competitions.
