Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has made it known that he was near to quit the London club last summer.
Rudiger told to BBC that at Chelsea nobody told him that he had to leave. But he was a bit upset because he knew his position in the team.
“Last summer there were really two teams that were actively interested in me. To be honest, one of those teams was PSG, with Thomas Tuchel at the time. In addition to the offer from Paris, there was also a call from Jose Mourinho, who was calling me to Tottenham.”
“In the end, nothing happened. Now everything is going well for me, and I am very happy about that. To be honest, I have always been treated well at Chelsea. The number one priority for me is to extend my contract with the Blues.”
“But I cannot sign a contract with the club myself, so I have to wait to see what happens in the future. Everyone – me and the club – knows how much I love Chelsea, so it all depends on the people who make those decisions.”
