Tottenham is interested in signing goalkeeper Dean Henderson. Dean Henderson, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, is allegedly being watched by Tottenham Hotspur. ESPN reports that if the Red Devils permit Henderson to depart in the summer, the Spurs would be interested in signing him. The English goalkeeper is on loan at Nottingham Forest until the conclusion of the current campaign; the contract contains no buy option.
After the club signed PSG goalie Keylor Navas in January, Henderson, 26, will have a tough time regaining his place in the Forest lineup. In 20 starts across various leagues, he has six clean sheets.
When his loan ends in the summer, the English goalie will return to Old Trafford. He might not stay back with the Red Devils for very long, though, as Tottenham is close behind him. Given David de Gea’s strong season, Henderson is unlikely to replace the Spaniard in Erik ten Hag’s squad.
Hugo Lloris has one more year left on his deal, so the Spurs are looking for a replacement. The 36-year-old has had a challenging season and appears to be edging closer to the departure door. With only nine clean sheets in 27 games, he has made several egregious mistakes.
Manchester United’s contract with Henderson ends in 2025. To play more first-team minutes and re-enter the England lineup, he was eager to leave Ten Hag’s squad.
According to Dimitar Berbatov, Newcastle deserves to complete the season with Manchester United in the top four. The Magpies have been the season’s unexpected standout, placing themselves in the running to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Eddie Howe’s team is currently in fifth place, two points behind Tottenham in fourth place with two games remaining. Out of 26 league games, the Tyneside team has won 12 and dropped three.
Newcastle deserves a spot in the top four, according to Berbatov, who spoke to Betfred. Regarding Spurs’ and Liverpool’s qualifications to compete against the Magpies for Champions League qualifying, he said: “In my view, Newcastle United and Manchester United both deserve to place in the top four this season. Tottenham has experienced many ups and downs over the years, but they are still around.”
He then further continued: “Liverpool is also in the race, and they shouldn’t be underestimated. But I certainly believe that Manchester United will be one of the teams that qualify for Champions League football.”
When Newcastle plays fellow top-four contenders United on April 2, their quest will meet its biggest test. They were humiliated 2-0 by Ten Hag’s team at Wembley in the Carabao Cup that month.
