Ronaldo to receive $335,000 for a rape lawsuit. The Athletic reports that Cristiano Ronaldo has been awarded $334,637.50 as compensation from Kathryn Mayorga’s attorney, Leslie Mark Stovall. Mayorga accused Ronaldo of rape in 2009, alleging that the event happened in a hotel. However, the popular Portuguese actor has consistently defended his innocence and categorically denied the accusations.
Mayorga, however, made the decision to file a lawsuit in 2018 seeking significant damages. She followed Stovall’s advice and continued. It happened after information about their conversation with Ronaldo’s lawyer Peter Christiansen surfaced. The case has now been dismissed by US judge Jennifer Dorsey, who has also accused Stovall of possessing a “purloined” document. The total cost of the trial’s legal expenses was $626,000.
However, Judge Dorsey has requested Stovell to cover half of Cristiano Ronaldo’s legal costs. The superstar must take some responsibility for delaying legal proceedings, the court further concluded.
Ronaldo’s next game is against Al Tauwoon on February 17 in a Saudi Pro League matchup for Al-Nassr. The team led by Rudi Garcia is presently second in the SPL standings. With one more game played, Al Shabab leads Al-Nassr by three points in the league.
In their most recent game, Al-Nassr defeated Al-Wehda 4-0, with the Portuguese no. 7 scoring all four goals. Ronaldo has now scored five goals in his last four games for the club, after going scoreless in each of his first two games with Al-Nassr.
“Ronaldo has reached a tremendous point of homogeneity and harmony with his teammates,” Rudi Garcia told the media following Ronaldo’s incredible hat trick against Al-Wehda (via Mirror). Over time, his teammates came to understand his goals and scoring patterns. Cristiano Ronaldo scored four goals, so I believe he had a nice night. The match against Al Wehda also marked Ronaldo’s 61st hat trick in his illustrious career.
