The heads of England’s two senior teams, Harry Kane and Leah Williamson, have been honored with a mural at TOCA Social for their leadership. The current England teams, both men’s and women’s, are two of the best in recent memory. Following appearances in the semifinal and championship rounds of the previous two major competitions by Gareth Southgate’s men’s team, the Lionesses became the first senior Three Lions team to win the Euros in the summer. Kane and Williamson, the two captains of both teams, have demonstrated outstanding leadership over the past few years and are being honored at TOCA Social in London’s O2 Arena.
When asked about how he felt about appearing in the mural, Kane responded, It’s a real honor to feature in such a unique piece of artwork at TOCA Social. I really hope it inspires people and leaves them feeling motivated to follow their dreams and have a go at playing TOCA or a game of football outdoors, and perhaps going all the way to the top.
I’d want to thank MurWalls, TOCA Social, and everyone involved for making this mural happen, Williamson continued. A strong leader must be able to communicate effectively and set an example for others. I hope this demonstrates to young players that anything is possible.
It can only be a good thing for the young people turning to them for inspiration across the nation that there are two outstanding role models guiding the two senior England senior teams. The Tottenham striker will be looking to follow in the footsteps of his female counterpart by winning a significant international trophy in 2022 when he leads the Three Lions to Qatar. Since leading England to victory at Wembley, Williamson’s game time has been restricted due to an injury that has recently kept her out of action.
