Pundit praises the Arsenal star for an amazing performance. Fabio Vieira of Arsenal has received high acclaim from pundit Alan Smith for his recent string of performances for the Gunners this season.
The midfielder from Portugal was one of the fresh names Arsenal added in the summer. To acquire Viera from Porto, the Gunners paid a transfer price of approximately €35 million. He has had trouble this season, though, getting consistent playing time under Mikel Arteta.
The North London side already has a potent midfield with Granit Xhaka, Martin Odegaard, and Thomas Partey. Vieira is presently behind the trio in the pecking order, which makes it a little challenging for the Portuguese player to receive consistent minutes.
Despite this, Vieira has performed admirably in the games in which he has been required to participate.
In a recent interview, renowned pundit Smith discussed the midfielder’s performance and said that he is progressively settling in at the Emirates. “He’s growing into his own, Vieira,” he said. In Europe on Thursday, he played well.
The 2-2 draw between Sporting CP and Arsenal in the Europa League last week featured the Portuguese midfielder’s goal. He also performed admirably when he replaced Gabriel Martinelli in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Fulham (March 12). In the 77th minute, Vieira came on to substitute for the Brazilian winger.
In 27 appearances for the Gunners across all categories this season, Vieira has notched two goals and six assists.
The squad of Mikel Arteta, who has been in outstanding form this year as they pursue the league championship in 2022–23, has received some feedback from Paul Merson. After the Gunners’ convincing 3-0 away victory over Fulham at the weekend, Merson offered his most recent comments on behalf of the team.
One of the issues he raised concerned Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus, who he thought might cause Arteta, the head coach of the Gunners, problems now that he had returned from injury. Gabriel Jesus returning is a little bit of an issue for Arsenal, he said, because the young man didn’t sign to be a bit player like he was at Man City.
Jesus was a crucial acquisition for Arsenal before the season. Before the 2022 FIFA World Cup break, when he sustained an injury playing for Brazil, he was also one of the Gunners’ best performers. In 21 appearances for the north London team across competitions, he has five goals and seven assists.
