Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard expressed his views about goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, ahead of the match with Tottenham.
“Kepa had difficult times, and it was obvious to everyone. I know this, and he knows it, but we also need to understand that he is still young, and it was unfair to pay so much attention to him and his mistakes. I have to stand up for him because he is a good guy, he plays professionally, tries to do everything he can. I’ve made sure of that in recent weeks.”
“Mendy and Chilwell can play in tomorrow’s match. They are in shape, so let’s see if they start from the first minutes or not.”
“As for Mendy, the first signs and interaction, both in terms of human qualities and on the training field, were extremely positive. He settled very well in those few days and everyone was glad to him. It’s about competition, we know about it.”
“He is a good goalkeeper, we know a lot about him, and let’s see how everything turns out,” quotes Lampard on the club’s official website.
