European giants are preparing a summer attempt to sign a PSG target. According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Bayern Munich are both interested in signing French striker Randal Kolo Muani.
Kolo Muani is now playing for German club Eintracht Frankfurt, where he is having an outstanding 2022–2023 season. His performance has also piqued the eye of a few elite European clubs that are looking to add a striker this summer.
Kolo Muani has now scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists for Eintracht Frankfurt this season in 40 games played in all competitions. He is undoubtedly one of the hottest goal-scorers in Europe.
His play has also caught the attention of a few elite teams looking to bolster their attacking lineups this summer, most notably Bayern Munich (via PSG Talk). The Bavarians have not yet found a striker to replace Robert Lewandowski of Poland. He departed the team last summer to sign with Barcelona for an estimated €50 million transfer price.
Now that Lewandowski has left, Kolo Muani has been named as the person who might be able to fill the gap left by his departure before the upcoming season. The Frenchman’s prior expertise in the Bundesliga is thought to be one of the board of Bayern Munich’s motivating considerations.
This season, he has double-digit goals and assists for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, tallying 13 goals and 10 assists through 28 games.
But Bayern Munich won’t likely have a free pass in the race to recruit the striker; PSG is expected to put up a strong fight. This summer, the French giants are also looking for a new center-forward and are interested in bringing Kolo Muani home.
The 24-year-old attacker started his career in Ligue 1 in France. He advanced through Nantes’ ranks before being transferred to Frankfurt in the summer of 2021.
Kolo Muani is projected to fetch a club-record transfer fee of more than €100 million, and Frankfurt is rumored to be solely interested in selling him for that sum.
Lionel Messi’s future is discussed with PSG’s manager:
Concerns about Lionel Messi, a forward for PSG whose contract is set to expire this summer, seem to be mounting.
As of right now, there has been no progress in trying to extend the Argentine’s contract with the team. After just two seasons, he appears to be considering leaving the Parc de Princess this summer.
However, Messi and the club must agree on a course of action, according to manager Christophe Galtier. In an interview that was shown on PSG Talk, he said: “Leo’s future is dependent on both his position and the club’s. The two parties have a conversation. I’m concentrating on the ten games that are left to capture this title of French champions. It is still highly private as to what Leo or the club will decide.”
In 36 appearances in all competitions, Messi has 20 goals and 19 assists.
