Galatasaray interested in signing the Liverpool star. Galatasaray is reportedly interested in signing Liverpool player Thiago Alcantara this summer, according to Turkish newspaper Takvim.
In 2020, Thiago, 32, signed a £25 million contract to join the Reds from Bayern Munich. The superior technical skill of the Spain international was expected to help Jurgen Klopp’s team improve over time. The midfielder has, however, only sometimes displayed his brilliance at Anfield due to a string of ailments.
It’s important to note that despite Thiago making 97 appearances for Liverpool across competitions, he has missed a total of 62 games due to injury. In addition, after February of last season, he failed to start a Premier League match for Klopp’s team.
Concerns over Thiago’s future have been raised due to his lack of availability. According to reports, the Reds won’t renew his contract beyond 2024. Numerous clubs are eager to take advantage of the circumstance by attempting to entice the Spaniard away from Merseyside.
The aforementioned source claims that Galatasaray has Thiago on their shopping list for this summer. As they get ready to play in the UEFA Champions League once more, the Turkish Super Lig champions are thinking about signing the midfielder, either permanently or on a permanent loan.
Only a few days have passed since it was revealed that Fenerbahce is interested in Thiago. As a result, it would seem that the two Turkish Super Lig heavyweights are ready to compete for the former Bayern Munich midfielder.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce aren’t the only teams interested in Thiago, it should be noted. Saudi Arabia is interested in the Liverpool player, according to The Athletic earlier this week. It has already been reported that the veteran turned down a substantial offer from the Middle East.
For their part, the Reds have not yet received a formal offer for Thiago. According to The Daily Telegraph, they are prepared to sell him if a compelling offer comes in. The Spanish player’s time at the club may be coming to an end now that Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have joined the Premier League heavyweights.
Liverpool weigh-up move for Romeo Lavia:
Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are two significant midfield additions made by Liverpool this summer. They could, however, improve their options in the position now that they have let contracts for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, and James Milner expire. The Reds are reportedly thinking about signing Romeo Lavia, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Following the acquisition of two attacking-minded midfielders, Jurgen Klopp is seeking a No. 6. Lavia, 19, is the ideal candidate because he is a defensive midfielder by trade and would not compete with an indigenous Red due to his age. Southampton, however, is seeking £50 million for the Belgian international.
There are rumours that Liverpool thinks Southampton is paying too much for Lavia. Notably, the teenager has also been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal in addition to the Reds. The Merseyside-based team’s decision to sign the midfielder this summer is thus uncertain.
