PSG shows interest in Man United’s top target. Recent reports claim that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have enquired about the availability of Rasmus Hojlund, a striker who has been linked to Manchester United.
Parisians are currently getting ready for life without Kylian Mbappe after the 2018 FIFA World Cup champion said last month that he would not be signing a contract extension past next summer. They are keeping an eye on players like Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus thus far.
Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, claims that PSG has recently inquired about Hojlund as well. They want to understand what he is asking for. On the other hand, it is rumored that Manchester United will continue to prioritize the Dane as their top striker target this summer. After hiring a new custodian, they want to submit an official bid to sign the player.
In light of recent ties between the Danish striker and the Red Devils, Romano expressed his opinions on the player earlier this month. He said to GiveMeSport: “When you spend £60 million or £70 million on a player, you are getting someone ready to contribute to your squad. At this point, Hojlund has had great success with Atlanta.”
Romano added, clarifying the Red Devils’ view on Hojlund: “But right now, it’s more about his potential. He has sat on the sidelines for a considerable amount of time at times. Manchester United believes that he has amazing potential, but that the asking price might be too high for him.”
Hojlund gained notoriety with his electrifying performances last season after moving from Sturm Graz to Atalanta in 2022 for approximately £15 million. In just 1897 total first-team minutes across 34 appearances, he scored 10 goals.
Hojlund would emerge as a key starter for PSG if he chooses to leave United and join them this summer. Playing among athletes like Neymar, Marco Verratti, and Marco Asensio would allow him to reach his greatest potential.
Serie A star with links to a transfer to Manchester United is said to be available solely to PSG:
Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, has named PSG as the team that can afford to pay enough to recruit Victor Osimhen.
He said (To Sportmediaset): “Paris Saint-Germain is the only team that can afford Victor right now. We’ll wait and see if Nasser Al Khelaifi intends to submit a bid of about £171 million. I believe he will remain.”
Osimhen, 24, has recently drawn interest from several European teams as a result of his outstanding performance in Napoli’s Serie A triumph last season. However, a prospective summer transfer to a different team is viewed as doubtful due to the Nigerian’s high price tag. In addition to PSG, Manchester United is also keeping an eye on the former Lille and Wolfsburg forward.
The forward with Manchester United ties scored a staggering 31 goals and five assists in 39 games for Gli Azzurri earlier in the previous campaign.
