Chelsea is looking for a possible swap deal with Bayern Munich. The exchange will allow Kingsley Coman and Callum Hudson-Odoi to switch clubs, according to a report citing L’Équipe via Get French Football News.
Coman’s current contract with Bayern Munich has validity till 2023. Talks over an extension have been dead for 2 months, after the player has been offered €13m a year gross. He is valued at €9m a year gross but wants to match Leroy Sané’s €18m, hence, the talks are at a standstill.
UEFA Champions League winner Thomas Tuchel has never hidden how much he loves Coman as a player. For an exchange contract, Chelsea’s board would like to include Callum Hudson-Odoi, as the Blues coach Tuchel doesn’t include English winger in his plans for the coming season and Bayern have shown historic interest in him. The situation will continue to evolve in the coming weeks.
Despite all the speculations, Chelsea youngster Hudson-Odoi is ‘determined to stay at the club’ this summer. The Bundesliga side has previously shown interest in Hudson-Odoi before he committed his future to Chelsea.
Both Chelsea and Bayern are now hopeful of signing a player-plus-cash swap deal but nothing has been confirmed by either club yet. Kingsley Coman has also attracted interest from Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool. These clubs have been monitoring situations revolving around the Frenchman.
The 20-year-old Hudson joined the London club in 2007 and made his under-18 debut in 2016. He joined Chelsea’s first team in 2017 and has scored 3 goals in 57 appearances. On the other hand, Kingsley Coman first joined Bayern Munich in 2015 on loan but in 2017 he made a permanent move to the German club. He made 94 appearances for Bayern scoring 17 goals. He also helped Munich win the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League trophy.
