Michail Antonio hates annoying Gunners supporters. Michail Antonio, a striker for West Ham United, claimed that Arsenal supporters are the worst to joke about with.
Antonio made his remarks just a few days after his Hammers squad drew 2-2 with the Gunners in the Premier League on April 16 at the London Stadium. In the first 10 minutes, goals from Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard gave the visitors a 2-0 advantage.
Said Benrahma, however, gave West Ham a response in the 33rd minute. Then, nine minutes after the interval, Jarrod Bowen scored to give his team a point. Antonio particularly came close to sealing the victory for the home team late on, but his header from a clear distance deflected off the goal frame and went behind.
On the “Footballer’s Football” podcast, the Jamaican international made negative remarks against Arsenal supporters, which also includes those in his social circle. As reported by TBR Football, he said: “I would like to see Arsenal win the league. But I’ll be honest—I detest Arsenal supporters! I’ll be honest: I don’t like them. I dislike Arsenal supporters. I have relatives, a representative, and nephews. They irritate me! Additionally, they have always been a pain! Gunners Fan TV! Annoying.”
Antonio also said: “They are the worst people to joke around with. Despite the fact that they haven’t won the Premier League in a while, it seems like they did.”
It’s important to note that the seasoned forward doesn’t have a great road record against the reigning Premier League champions. In six games at the Emirates Stadium, Antonio has scored just once and lost every one of them.
Arsenal would need a loud crowd for the next two games:
In their pursuit of the Premier League championship, the Gunners will enter a crucial week. If they want to win their upcoming two games, they will surely need the support of their supporters. If they win those contests, they might be on track to winning the championship.
On Friday, April 21, at the Emirates, Mikel Arteta’s team will play Southampton in the first of those games. The leaders, who have drawn their past two games, will be anxious to secure at least a point against the Saints, who are now last in the league rankings.
With a victory over Southampton, Arsenal would move seven points ahead of Manchester City, who will play this weekend in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
The title-deciding matchup between Arteta’s team and City will then take place at the Etihad Stadium on April 26. Many would consider Pep Guardiola’s team to be in control of the race with a home victory.
