Kai Havertz agrees to Arsenal’s contract. The status of Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz has been updated by journalist Fabrizio Romano amid interest from Arsenal. The German international allegedly gave the go-ahead for a transfer to the Emirates, according to the transfer guru.
According to Romano, Havertz has previously indicated his preference for Arsenal and has no qualms with the Gunners on a personal level. According to the Italian newspaper, Mikel Arteta’s representatives have spoken with Chelsea about the transfer fee, and the Blues may be willing to drop their £75 million asking price.
Bayern Munich is aware of the problem, but they remain silent, according to Romano. Real Madrid, though, is no longer competing for the German attacker.
Following his summer 2020 transfer from Bayer Leverkusen for £72 million, Havertz has not quite lived up to expectations. The 24-year-old has scored several significant goals for the Blues, including the game-winning goal in the 2021 UEFA Champions League final.
However, the German has not been able to consistently produce the numbers. In 47 appearances across all competitions during the previous 2022–23 season, he scored just nine goals and collected one assist.
It was previously claimed that Arsenal will spend £60 million for Havertz’s services and pay him more than £200,000 a week. If Mikel Arteta is successful in obtaining the 24-year-old’s services, it is unclear how he will use him.
At Stamford Bridge, Havertz, a versatile player, was frequently used as a false nine. Although Martin Odegaard is the Gunners’ first pick at the position, he may be most suited as a number 10.
Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are the Gunners’ possibilities for the number nine position, and Folarin Balogun is also scheduled to make a return to the Emirates after a stellar season on loan at Reims.
Update on Chelsea’s pursuit of Arsenal target from Fabrizio Romano:
In light of Chelsea and Arsenal’s interest in midfielder Moises Caicedo, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has updated the situation. The Blues are the front-runners to sign the Ecuadorian international, according to the Italian journalist.
The Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder has reportedly been in talks with Chelsea for some weeks, according to Romano. Despite Arsenal’s recent approach for Caicedo, the reporter claims that the Blues are now in the lead.
He added that Declan Rice and Kai Havertz are currently the center of Mikel Arteta’s team’s attention.
Chelsea and Arsenal both made offers for Moises Caicedo in January because both sides wanted him. Although Brighton might sell now for the appropriate price, they did well to keep one of their important players.
