Ilkay Gundogan speaks on his future with Manchester City. Ilkay Gundogan, the captain of Manchester City, has provided an update on his future amid transfer rumors involving Barcelona.
At the end of this month, Gundogan, 32, is reportedly ending his seven-year relationship with the Cityzens. Since the beginning of the year, the Blaugrana have been keeping an eye on him as they look to plug holes in their midfield.
The German, a right-footed central midfielder famous for his distribution and endurance, contributed to his team’s treble-winning season. On Saturday, June 10, in Istanbul, he began their 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final.
When the summit fight was over, Gundogan was asked to comment on his future. He stated to reporters: “I haven’t made a decision about my future in full yet.”
The former Borussia Dortmund player, according to SPORT, has held critical conversations with Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez and is willing to reject a move to Arsenal. At the Catalan organization, he reportedly received a three-year contract offer.
Gundogan, who has so far won 14 titles with Manchester City, may decide to stay at the Etihad longer. But the Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has recently been strongly associated with the Cityzens, thus the German is probably about to leave.
In 304 games for Manchester City, the young product of Vfl Bochum has provided 60 goals and 40 assists overall.
A Serie A midfielder is available for Barcelona to sign for €20 million:
Sofyan Amrabat, a midfielder for Fiorentina, is said to have a €60 million release clause in his contract, according to MARCA. However, Fiorentina is willing to trade the star for merely €20 million because he has one year left on his contract.
Barcelona is eager to have Amrabat join their team as they look for a suitable replacement for Sergio Busquets, who will be leaving this month. The Spaniard won’t be available to them for the first time since 2008.
Nordin Amrabat gave his opinion on his younger brother’s future in light of recent links in an interview with ESPN. He stated: “He is a top candidate for Barcelona, but you are aware of their financial problems. Of course, you never know. When you see the interested clubs, it will be fierce competition. However, my brother now plans to compete at the highest level.”
Amrabat, 26, joined La Viola from Club Brugge for an initial €19.5 million in 2020 and has since established himself as a crucial first-team starter. His club has so far advanced to the Coppa Italia and UEFA Europa Conference League finals thanks to him.
