PSG to enter negotiations with Luis Enrique. Luis Enrique, a former manager of Barcelona, is drawn to the idea at Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 powerhouses plan to choose a new manager this week.
Le Parisien claims that Enrique is a viable alternative for the Parisians as they ostensibly search for a replacement for Christophe Galtier. Galtier, the current manager, has already been let go while the club makes an announcement.
Enrique is a wise choice to take the Frenchman’s place because he has a strong track record from his time as manager of Barcelona. In 2015, he guided the Blaugrana to a treble by winning the Copa del Rey, the Champions League, and La Liga. In 181 games during his tenure as coach at Camp Nou, he supervised 138 victories.
People close to the Spanish coach are reportedly not denying any connections to PSG. Napoli appeared to be considering hiring Enrique as their new manager, but Rudi Garcia has already been named as Luciano Spalletti’s replacement.
The Ligue 1 champions have their sights set on Julian Nagelsmann, the former manager of Bayern Munich. There hasn’t been much progress on that front, though.
Telefoot contributed to the rumor by saying that Enrique will speak with PSG the following week. He most recently oversaw the national team of Spain. He did, however, resign from his position as La Roja’s manager following their 2022 FIFA World Cup round of 16 exit.
Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona talks down rumors that he may transfer to PSG:
Dembele adamantly denies traveling to the Parc des Princes. Ousmane Dembele has refuted rumors that he would sign for PSG this summer. According to the Frenchman (via Marca): “I’m not sure why PSG was brought up so frequently. There was never anything with them, and there isn’t right now. It must be because they are a French team.”
With a year left on his contract with Barcelona, Dembele’s future has generated conjecture. The French winger’s contract reportedly has a €50 million release clause.
When Dembele’s previous contract was about to expire last summer, PSG expressed interest in him. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old signed a one-year extension.
Even yet, El Nacional reported in May that the Parisians were trying to work out a deal to sign him this summer. Despite having fitness concerns last season, he was in excellent shape. In 35 games across competitions, the France international contributed nine assists in addition to eight goals.
