PSG provides an update on Neymar Jr’s injuries. The Brazilian superstar of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Neymar Jr., has made positive progress in his recovery. The right ankle injury he received in a league game against Lille in February was successfully operated on, and the club confirmed that he had returned to their training facilities.
Additionally, the most expensive player in the world had his protective boot taken off, which was an important step in his recovery. For PSG and their supporters, the injury was especially alarming because it concerned the same right ankle that had kept Neymar out of Brazil’s final group stage match at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Neymar’s season was abruptly over after suffering two injuries to the same foot in the space of three months. However, the team has officially said that Neymar will continue his recovery in Paris.
PSG issued the following statement via their website on Thursday: “Neymar Jr. has returned to the training facility, and today his protective boot will be taken off by members of Paris Saint-Germain’s medical staff as well as the surgeons who performed the surgery. The athlete will now be permitted to continue his rehabilitation procedure in Paris after receiving encouraging test findings.”
PSG has maintained their winning ways despite Neymar’s absence, winning seven of their last nine Ligue 1 games. The dominant French team appears set to win their eighth league championship in the past 11 years. In order to maintain the team’s momentum, coach Christophe Galtier has been able to rely on the strong partnership of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
Retiring ‘hysterical’ Mourinho as Galtier’s replacement is discouraged by the former PSG manager:
Charles Villeneuve, a former president of the club, has advised Nasser Al-Khelaifi not to select Jose Mourinho as the organization’s new manager. Villeneuve believes the controversial Portuguese strategist, known for his dramatic theatrics and divisive attitude, would further destabilize the Ligue 1 team.
Villeneuve stated his worries about Mourinho possibly leading PSG in an interview with Europe 1 Sport (via GOAL): “Given the scenario we’re in right now, taking Mourinho is no problem if you want a frantic coach. There needs to be a lot of organization; else, things would be worse. I think we journalists would have enough anecdotes to share every week, all the time.”
Christopher Galtier insists that he has no plans to leave before his contract expires in 2024, despite the numerous reports that suggest otherwise.
