The first player over the age of 43 to appear in Ligue 1 since 1956, Hilton saw red in a 2-1 victory over Lyon.
On Tuesday the captain of Montpellier was sent off against Lyon and Hilton became the first 43-year-old to play in Ligue 1 in 64 years.
According to bein sports, not since the former Troyes striker Roger Courtois, aged 44, had a player over the age of 43 played in the top flight of France in June 1956.
Montpellier defender Hilton followed Courtois’ footsteps during the week, but the Brazilian marked the occasion by earning a red card in the club’s 2-1 victory over Lyon.
Since Marco Ballotta (44) in 2008, Hilton is the oldest player in the top five European leagues, he was dismissed for a second bookable offense with nine minutes left after a penalty was given to Barcelona target and Lyon captain Memphis Depay.
