Gremio president shares concern for Luis Suarez’s health. The president of Luis Suarez’s current team, Gremio, Alberto Guerra, issued a concerning report on the Uruguayan’s fitness, suggesting that the former Barcelona star may be nearing the end of his career.
Suarez joined Gremio in January and has since appeared in 25 games across all leagues, recording 11 goals and 8 assists. However, the striker is dealing with a knee problem.
Suarez might need a prosthesis, according to Guerra. He noted that the attacker might be nearing the conclusion of his legendary career. O Jogo quoted him as saying: “He could need a prosthesis; this is a serious situation. Numerous drugs and injections. He is approaching the limit, but we don’t know when it will be reached.”
One of the best attackers in the current period is Luis Suarez. He had a fantastic run playing football in Europe. In 283 games with Barcelona, the Uruguayan scored 195 goals and provided 113 assists. In 133 games for Liverpool, he scored 82 goals and assisted 46 others.
Earlier in his career, Suarez excelled for Ajax. Over the course of 159 games with the Eredivisie team, he scored 111 goals and provided 68 assists. His final European club was Atletico Madrid, where in 83 games he scored 34 goals and contributed six assists.
Former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez previously expressed a desire to retire with Lionel Messi:
Throughout his career, Luis Suarez has teamed up with top-tier attacking players, but his time at Barcelona was exceptional. Suarez was a member of MSN, one of the most formidable trios in international football, which also included Lionel Messi and Neymar.
The striker recently expressed his wish to play with Messi till he retired. Together, they scored 99 goals throughout the course of their 258 games for Barcelona.
Regarding the Argentine, he stated (according to Albiceleste Talk): “Neymar and I also came to an agreement on it. We intend to finish our careers together in the same club. We should just play football for fun, however, we want, and then we can all go to bed together. I’m not sure about Neymar, but Messi and I will be there for sure.”
Messi recently signed with Inter Miami of the MLS. Suarez is currently in Gremio. His intention to retire alongside Messi may not materialise given the most current information about his knee issue.
