Man City and Bayern Munich keeping eye on Levi Colwill. To sign Chelsea star Levi Colwill, Manchester City and Bayern Munich are reportedly keeping an eye on his contract situation. Since last December, Colwill, 19, has established himself as a dependable starter for Brighton & Hove Albion. The Cobham youth product has played 812 minutes and made nine starts since joining the Amex Stadium team from the Blues on a season-long loan earlier this summer.
The England U21 player gained notoriety following his outstanding loan stint at EFL Championship team Huddersfield Town last season. He is a left-footed defender gifted with passes and marking. In 32 total games for them, he scored two goals and provided one assist.
Reliable writer Simon Phillips reported that Chelsea intends to offer Colwill a new and improved deal shortly in his exclusive column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea. The young center-back, whose current contract is slated to expire in June 2025, has drawn interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
Colwill, who can also play left back, is seen as a potential starter for Stamford Bridge shortly. Graham Potter is likely to include him in his plans for the following season because Kalidou Koulibaly is expected to leave this summer and Thiago Silva is in the latter stages of his career.
During the current 2022–23 season, the Blues have also acquired Wesley Fofana from Leicester City and Benoit Badiashile from AS Monaco for a combined total of more than £105 million. The team also plans to enter the competition for RB Leipzig center-back Josko Gvardiol in the trade market. Colwill is next anticipated to play for Brighton on Saturday, when they travel to face Leicester City in the Premier League (January 21).
Alex Crook, a transfer expert, claimed in an interview with talkSPORT that Chelsea could sign Romeo Lavia, an ex-star for Manchester City. He stated: “Romeo Lavia is a young midfielder with exceptional talent. He most likely gave his greatest Southampton effort against Chelsea in late August. They just recently acquired him from Manchester City for a relatively low price of merely £10.5 million.”
Crook went on to explain the Blues’ efforts to sign the Belgian: “A few weeks later in that transfer window, the Blues did submit a transfer offer, but Southampton turned it down. They are hoping for new interest. A bid of up to £50 million may be made. If the Sports Republic organization wants to keep this athlete, that will be a true challenge.” Lavia, 19, has made one assist and one goal in 11 games for Southampton this season across all competitions.
