On Friday by Championship side West Brom, Manchester United’s Premier League revival plans faced a challenge as they were defeated 2-1 in a friendly game.
Against West Brom in the two matches, United brought out two separate teams. Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes worked together in the midfield throughout the opening loss, with the Portuguese playmaker scoring and missing a penalty in the 90 minutes, revealed Manchester Evening News.
However, with goals from Matt Phillips and striker Kenneth Zohore Manchester lost 2-1.
The first United team included: Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Daniel James, Eric Bailly, and Nemanja Matic.
Tahith Chong, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan Bissaka, Luke Shaw, and goalkeeper David De Gea, were a part of the second squad.
The Reds secured a 3-1 win in the three-o’clock kick-off, with midfielder Andreas Pereira in the goals with a brace, and Tahith Chong in the scoresheet as well.
