Man United to loan out Mason Greenwood. The Manchester Evening News reports that John Murtough, the director of football at Manchester United, is in in-depth negotiations with Atalanta on a Mason Greenwood loan agreement. This attempt is being made to secure a deal for Rasmus Hojlund, the club’s top summer transfer target.
The 20-year-old Hojlund led the Red Devils in scoring last season with ten goals and four assists in 34 appearances across all competitions. One of the most anticipated prospects in all of Europe.
The youngster is currently on the Red Devils’ radar. They haven’t yet agreed on a transfer fee with Atalanta, though. Hojlund and Murtough allegedly spoke on video calls. There are rumors that Atalanta values the player at €100 million, though.
To put it mildly, the amount is pretty extravagant. As a result, United is considering using Greenwood on loan. After being charged by his partner Harriet Robson of sexual assault, using forceful or controlling behavior, and alleged rape last year, the Englishman has been cleared of all allegations.
Mason Greenwood intends to play football once more. The player will be eased back into action by the Red Devils on a loan, ideally out of the spotlight. Greenwood has reportedly attracted the interest of Juventus and Atalanta.
Manchester United might be able to sign Hojlund if Greenwood is loaned to Atalanta. According to MEN, Kees Vos, the CEO of SEG International Agency and Erik ten Hag’s agent, is considering bringing Hojlund to Old Trafford.
