Southampton hosted Manchester City on its field, as part of the 33rd round of the EPL.
Alexander Zinchenko appeared in the starting line-up of the guests. The 23-year-old football player lost the ball in the 16th minute of the game, after which the rival quickly scored a goal.
Zinchenko apologized for his mistake, as a result of which Citizens lost.
“I apologize to the entire Manchester City team and fans. Such mistakes are unacceptable,ю“- wrote the Ukrainian on his page on Instagram.
Zinchenko played 15 matches in the EPL this season and did not feature ineffective actions.
