Thiago Alcantara has not yet returned to training with the first team, reported Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp but noted that he is not too far from making a comeback, according to the Mirror.
The 29-year-old hasn’t played for the Reds since he picked up a knee injury late in the draw match of the Merseyside derby back in October.
Thiago has only managed to make two starts for his new side since joining during the last transfer window, managing only 134 minutes of play so far.
“When will he be in team training? I don’t know. We will see. I’m as surprised as the public. In the morning I come in, we have a medical meeting and they tell me ‘yes he is in, he is not’. I know it’s not too far any more [for Thiago], but I have no idea.”
