Sergio Agüero is hopeful to play this season once again despite the knee problem sustained in Manchester City’s 5-0 home win over Burnley.
The Guardian says the striker, who was supposed to have a scan on Tuesday, is believed to have avoided damage to the ligament which would have ended his campaign.
Sergio could be available before the season finishes in the Premier League and should the holders get there for the FA Cup final on August 1, as City’s club-record scorer may miss about a month.
With a last-16 second leg against Real Madrid on 7 or 8 August, City resumes its Champions League campaign. City has a 2-1 advantage.
