Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has summarized the first leg of the Europa League 1/8 final against Manchester United (1-1).
“We aim to make Milan better and get them back on track. In that sense, matches like this are the best and I’m happy to play against a team like Manchester United,” said Pioli to UEFA official website.
“It was a good match and we are happy with the result but we will need to play as good again to get past such a strong team.”
“I keep telling the boys that I am not coaching ordinary players, but incredible players who give their all in every match. They are fantastic.”
“Before the match, we would have happily settled for a 1-1 draw. But now we know we could have done better.”
“This team has a very strong spirit and we want to control every match. The way we play requires complete concentration from everyone. Despite the fact that we play a lot of games, the lads don’t relax a bit. I just don’t have enough compliments for them.”
