Former Brazilian footballer Pele has been admitted to the hospital for treatment due to a colon tumor. Doctors caring for Pele say an already unrecognized colon tumor is his new problem. Brazil’s three-time Football World Cup winner Pele has been admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo. Earlier this year, he had a problem of a colon tumor.
The medical team looking after Pele says his condition is stable and it is expected that he will be discharged from the hospital in the next few days. Pele underwent surgery for the tumor on September 4, (football news) after spending a month in the hospital, he underwent chemotherapy at home.
Pele is considered one of the greatest footballers in the world. Originally named Edson Arantes do Nascimento, Pele’s health has deteriorated in recent years, due to which he has spent a long time in the hospital. He is the first player in football history to make his country Brazil the world champion three times. Under him, Brazil won the World Cup in 1958, 1962, and 1970. He scored two goals in the 1958 World Cup final against Sudan.
Pele’s football career was brilliant. He was instrumental in making his team the world champion thrice. If seen in international football, he has scored 77 goals. He is still ranked 10th among the most international goalscorers.
