Former Liverpool forward Michael Owen lifted the lid on playing the Reds in the Champions League match against Atalanta.
“It was really very bad performance. It was the worst game of Liverpool in a long time,” Owen said on BT Sport.
“You have to always look at the positive moments. If a bad day has to happen, let it be today. If Liverpool had been told at the beginning of the group stage that the club would need one win in the last two games of the group [to get into the playoffs of LC], the Reds would have agreed.”
“That is not the worst defeat. Not perfect, but better now than last Sunday [against Leicester].”
