Wolverhampton defender Nelson Semedo has revealed his reasons for leaving Barcelona.
“When I came back from holiday, my family and I went to Barcelona and had a proper chat. It was explained to me that the club was facing economic problems and I was one of those players who could leave and bring money to the club,” said Semedo to The Telegraph.
“Many people have found themselves in this position. Suarez, Vidal and Rakitic. Because of the coronavirus, all clubs have financial problems.”
“Any club becomes financially vulnerable when there are no fans in the stands. Barcelona fans could not even get into the club’s museum.”
“Anything can happen in football, but I was still a bit surprised that I was allowed to leave. The move to Wolverhampton was a very good decision for me. I didn’t think twice.”
