Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho, after the Europa League match against Wolfsberger (4-1), has commented on the performance of Gareth Bale and Dele Alli.
“I have been asked this more than once and my answer remains the same: our task is to win and I expect a good game from the whole team, not from individual players. It is not anyone’s viewing. Tottenham’s players are strong enough not to be part of the previews,” said Mourinho at the press conference.
“We got a result, we saw the team play, and that’s only possible when everyone does what’s required of them.”
“I substituted Bale because I thought it was hard for him to play the full 90 minutes and the team needed freshness, which Lamela gave them.”
“As for Dele, he worked hard, got a yellow card, and given that the referee handed out cards to us very easily, it was a risk. Nevertheless, Dele continued to play, but I thought Ndombele should come out, add freshness to the team and remove some imbalance in our game.”
“So I am happy with all the players, including the two you asked about.”
