José Mourinho, head coach of Tottenham summarized the Europa League match with LASK (3:3).
“We did not play the best way. The result is better than our performance. The second half was better than the first one, and some players were very good individually, but some played badly,” he told after the match.
“There are some fundamental players for us, and I need them on the field all the time. These players help our team to be balanced. For example, Hojberg and Son – without them we would hardly have achieved a positive result.”
“We will have to play the way we played at home in this EL against Antwerp. But when we played away with LASK, Ludogorets, Antwerp, some players felt that they didn’t belong there.”
“I think it’s a matter of attitude, I’ve seen that before. Even at Manchester United I had such situations. At that time we lost twice in a group away, but when we went to the playoffs, where there are more difficulties and the opponents are more powerful, the team began to see the matches differently.”
“Winning a group is important. Of course, we shouldn’t be afraid of anyone, but it’s better to take first place if possible. And all we have to do is win at home. We have to win and, I believe, we will.”
“Harry Kane will probably get back to Arsenal. I think so. I’m not sure, though, he’s still on treatment. I could be bluffing right now and pretending that Kane is in serious trouble. But no – they are not serious. I think he’ll play.”
