Manchester City players face a snowstorm and win over West Ham during their English Premier League (EPL) match on Sunday. There was a spectacular view of the match due to the snow storm. City manager Pep Guardiola was seen shivering from the cold more than instructing players off the pitch. Due to this snow storm, the football match was played with the yellow ball. Generally, teams play matches with white ball, but it is difficult to identify the ball in snow storm, so referees decided to bring in a yellow ball.
Manchester City midfielder Rodri said: “It was very difficult to play a match in the middle of a snowstorm and it is not easy to play even against West Ham.” The storm had stopped during half time and during that time the groundsmen cleared the entire pitch. The start of the second half was delayed by five minutes as the groundsmen cleared the pitch. Manager Pep Guardiola said, “It was very difficult to play in the first half. I thank the groundsmen who prepared the pitch for the match.”
City got off to a good start with the team’s captain Ilkay Gundogan scoring in the 33rd minute to give the team a 1-0 lead. In the second half, substitute Fernando Luiz Rosa scored in the 90th minute to give City a vital lead but West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini scored in injury time (90+4th minute) to close the team’s margin of defeat. Manchester City was announced the winner when the game ended on a 2-1 match score.
With this win, Man City moved up to second place on the points table with 29 points from 13 matches, while Chelsea is at the top of the table with 30 points from the same number of matches. At the same time, West Ham is in fourth place with 23 points from 13 matches.
