Liverpool-linked defender wants to join Tottenham. Micky van de Ven, a defender for Wolfsburg and a target for Liverpool, is hoping to sign for Tottenham Hotspur before the upcoming season.
The 22-year-old Van de Ven has established himself as a key starter for Wolfsburg throughout the previous season. With 49 points from 34 games, he assisted his team in finishing seventh in the Bundesliga standings. He also started 33 of those games.
The Dutchman, a left-footed center-back gifted with speed and tackling, has recently piqued Liverpool’s interest. He has emerged as Tottenham’s top defensive transfer target, though.
Transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano claimed on Twitter that Van de Ven has informed his agents of his desire to join Spurs shortly.
He stated: “The team of Micky van de Ven informed Wolfsburg of the player’s fervent wish to sign with Spurs. As of last week, he was among the top targets, and negotiations between Tottenham and Wolfsburg are currently continuing.”
Van de Ven was recently questioned by Voetbal International over the recent connections with Ange Postecoglou’s team. I have received it, he retorted. I’ve witnessed it. Interest is now channeled through my agent. He will without a doubt phone me if anything important comes up.
Van de Ven might be a crucial starter for Spurs if he signs a long-term contract with them this summer. He would take the place of Davinson Sanchez as Postecoglou’s favored 4-3-3 system’s left-sided center-back.
The young player from Volendam, though, might also work out well for Liverpool. In addition to challenging Ibrahima Konate, he would serve as a backup left-back option if necessary.
Liverpool urged to rope in Bundesliga star:
In his column for Caught Offside, ex-Liverpool attacker Stan Collymore shared his thoughts on Bayern Munich star Marcel Sabitzer.
He wrote: “There have been recent reports that the Bavarians are happy for the Austrian to leave permanently for a fee of just £13m – if that is true, I cannot believe United haven’t snapped their hand off already.”
Former Liverpool offensive player Stan Collymore wrote a column for Caught Offside in which he discussed Marcel Sabitzer of Bayern Munich.
He stated: “Recent rumors claim that the Bavarians are content for the Austrian to depart permanently for a sum of only £13 million. If this is true, I find it hard to believe that United hasn’t already snapped the Bavarians’ handoff.”
Collymore urged the Reds to sign the midfielder from Austria, adding: “I wonder if Klopp will give it any thought if Bayern Munich decides not to take them up on it. When you’re looking for senior international-level midfielders, that fee is almost too good to pass up because he has demonstrated his ability to play in the Premier League.”
The 2022–23 season saw Sabitzer, 29, spend half a season on loan with Manchester United. In 18 games, he scored three goals for them.
Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are the two midfielders for whom Liverpool has already spent £95 million this summer.
