Alisson Becker has signed a new contract at Liverpool that will keep him on Merseyside until 2027. Jurgen Klopp continues to offer new contracts to his stars ahead of the new season. The Reds confirmed that Alisson has committed his future to Liverpool, and the Brazilian goalkeeper has signed a new contract.
In 2018, the 28-year-old left Roma to join Jurgen Klopp’s team and he has since established himself as one of the best keepers in the game. Alisson’s contract at Anfield was set to expire in 2024 but he extended his stay for the next six years until 2027 after agreeing on a new deal.
Becker said: “I think I didn’t waste too much time thinking about that. It’s something we just built in those last three years, the confidence, the trust that I have in the club and the club have in myself.”
“Me and my family, we are really happy here. My kids are settled in England, in a different country, but they are growing up in that way. So we are really happy. I’m really glad that I can keep going on with my work here, doing a good job here. So, I’m really happy to make this decision – that is not hard for me.”
“We have to set goals and we have to set them high – winning everything that we are playing [for], the Champions League, Premier League, the cups, everything. I think we can start from there.”
In recent weeks, Liverpool has been tying down their stars to new contracts. Klopp has already secured new contracts for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho, this summer and Alisson has now joined the two outfield stars in committing his long-term future to the club. On the other hand, Liverpool still has a slew of players whose contracts expire in 2023, including Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk.
