Jurgen Klopp praised Liverpool’s youth for their “exceptional attitude” after a 7-2 beating of Lincoln on Thursday night while highlighting how important it is to “wear the jersey and show who you are” for the next generation coming through Anfield.
When asked to discuss the Reds’ first League Cup outing of the 2020-21 campaign the German head coach told reporters: “They deserved their two goals.”
“Tonight, we played a very good game. It was clear to see. We passed the ball and finished off the situation. The boys wanted to play football and demonstrated an extraordinary attitude.”
“That’s how it’s meant to be [the second XI of Liverpool performing like their first]. Wear the shirt and show who you are. I’m satisfied with everything.”
“It was not good to have two goals lost, but it’s not a major issue. In a game like this, you can have difficulties.”
