It took a spectacular Lautaro Martinez header to finally give Inter victory away to Torino, as Antonio Sanabria canceled out the Romelu Lukaku penalty.
In the first minute, Lautaro Martinez nodded over from Ivan Perisic’s cross but was denied by a desperate Lyanco block.
On the other hand, Torino had a huge scoring chance that they squandered on the 29th minute. Alessandro Bastoni stumbled on the Simone Verdi free-kick, giving Lyanco a completely free header from point-blank range, which Romelu Lukaku cleared off the line.
Christian Eriksen immediately made an impact coming off the bench, starting the move for Lukaku, who set up Lautaro only to be clattered for a penalty by Armando Izzo. Romelu Lukaku scored a near-bottom corner goal.
Salvatore Sirigu used his legs to parry from Achraf Hakimi, and it was almost 2-0 moments later, but Torino got back on equal terms in a messy fashion.
Stefan de Vrij forced Bremer into Barella, after a frantic scramble, Simone Zaza’s shot was saved, and Antonio Sanabria converted the rebound. Pushes were talked about on both sides, but the matter appeared to level out.
As Alexis Sanchez floated a ball over the top for Lautaro Martinez to place a remote-controlled cushioned header across Sirigu into the far bottom corner, Inter restored their advantage with a quality goal.
