In the semi-final stage out of the Europa League, the Red Devils bowed 2-1 to Sevilla, Manchester United captain Harry Maguire said that “the strongest side lost”.
“This is hard,” Maguire told BT Sport, via Goal.
“The boys are devastated, we have created numerous chances, the best team lost, they have punished us for missing opportunities, and they have not made many chances to be honest.”
“We admitted that it wasn’t nice enough from two crosses. We played our socks off and deserved to win and move. For the third time this year, we have failed in a semi-final.”
“We have a strong bunch of lads. It’s not appropriate to lose. It’s not reasonable to get to semi-finals. Big progress achieved this year. We’ve met a good team from Sevilla-we win it another day. Losing for this team is not acceptable.”
