Barcelona center-back Gerard Pique is potentially facing a six-month stay on the sidelines since damaging his knee in Saturday’s loss to Atletico Madrid.
The Spain international was pulled off an hour after Barca’s 1-0 La Liga defeat at the Wanda Metropolitano after a collision with Angel Correa.
Pique was in tears as he left the pitch, with Barca announcing soon after the match that he had suffered a sprain.
To identify the true seriousness of the injury, a scan is planned for Sunday.Spanish outlet Sport says that Barca was terrified of being without the 33-year-old before May, effectively ruling him out of the remainder of the campaign.
