Chelsea will opt for the £34m Badiashile transfer. Benoit Badiashile, a French player who would cost Chelsea £34 million, has reportedly reached an agreement with Monaco. The Athletic reports that a “complete agreement” has been reached between the two clubs on the transfer of the 21-year-old, and Chelsea is currently arranging for his medical before making a public declaration.
Subject to passing those physical tests, Badiashile will sign a long-term contract with the Blues at Stamford Bridge for almost €38 million. As they attempt to strengthen their squad in preparation for the second half of the season, Graham Potter and Chelsea are expected to have a busy window.
The Blues are hoping that Badiashile and other January additions may give them new optimism in the fight for Champions League football. They are now eighth in the Premier League after 15 games. After acquiring Ivorian striker Datro Fofana from Molde for a rumored £10 million, Badiashile is most likely Chelsea’s second January acquisition.
Enzo Fernandez, a midfielder for Argentina and Benfica, is also a target. At the age of 17, Badiashile made his Monaco debut with Thierry Henry. In 2018, at a press conference, his ex-manager notoriously gave him the evil eye for failing to push his chair in. Prior to their crucial match against Manchester City on January 5, the Blues are scheduled to play Nottingham Forest on January 1. At that point, Badiashile might be able to make his debut.
