West Ham’s third victory on the bounce saw them move to seventh in the Premier League as goals from Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio consigned relegation-threatened West Brom to yet another loss.
A quiet game erupted into life when Bowen chested a cross home just moments before half-time, following a largely unlikely 45 minutes. Chest finishes are not always a common occurrence, but Bowen did well to change his body to touch the hammered ball of Vladimir Coufal across the face of the target to send a half-time advantage to the Hammers.
West Ham’s lead held just six minutes after the restart, with Matheus Pereira tossing a shot straight into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Under the side of David Moyes, equalizer sparked a fire and they went on to dominate the rest of the game, winning it for the Hammers with Antonio’s close-range volley with a little under 25 minutes left.
Ahead of Southampton and Arsenal, West Ham’s victory pushes up to seventh, while West Brom retains five safety points having won just twice in 19 games.
