Barcelona defeated Athletic Bilbao 4–0 in the final to clinch the Copa del Rey tournament title with two goals from star footballer Lionel Messi. Leo climbed onto the stage after the victory and lifted the trophy above his head and then handed it over to fellow players standing below. Messi again saw the magic of his feet in this match where he scored two useful goals by punching Bilbao players. Barcelona won Copa Del Rey Cup as the Argentine hit the ball twice.
Due to restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus, spectators were not allowed to enter the stadium where Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez was accompanied by other officials. All goals for Barcelona occurred within the 60th to 72nd minutes. Messi scored two goals in the 68th and 72nd minutes while Antoine Griezmann scored the other goals in the 60th and Frankie de Joan in the 63rd minute. This is the first trophy under the guidance of new coach Ronald Koeman and Barcelona’s first trophy since the Spanish League in 2019.
The first goal for the team was scored in the 60th minute by Antoine Griezmann, who recently became the father of the third girl. Three minutes later Frankie de Jong scored another goal to put Barcelona ahead 2–0. Barcelona then won the final in a 4–0 unilateral style thanks to Messi’s two goals in the 68th and 72nd minutes.
In the final, manager Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona team performed well from the beginning, but the team failed to score in the first half. However, in the second half, Barcelona played better and achieved the distinction of becoming the champion by scoring four goals.
Lionel Messi said on winning the Copa Del Rey Cup: “This trophy is very special to me. It does not look good that we cannot celebrate it with our family and the audience, but we have to accept this situation.”
