Barcelona will sign Ruben Neves of Wolverhampton. Barcelona has agreed to sign midfielder Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a player-plus-cash deal, according to SPORT (via Football Espana).
According to the source, a deal has been reached between Barcelona and Neves, who is being managed by Jorge Mendes. The playmaker from Portugal is about to agree to a four-year deal with the Blaugrana.
Due to their current financial difficulties, Barca has devised a workaround that avoids paying a plain transfer price for Neves. Ansu Fati, a young Spanish winger, will join the English team, and Barca will also earn €30 million in addition to Neves.
It’s unclear whether Fati is prepared to leave Camp Nou, though. If he declines, the backup strategy entails bringing in either American fullback Sergino Dest or Moroccan winger Ez Abde. The Wolves board is allegedly willing to work within the parameters of this fluid negotiation, and it is anticipated that the final agreement will be signed and delivered by the end of June.
The move appears to be coming soon even if the deal’s wheels are still turning. But the fact that Neves’ manager at Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez, isn’t regarded as a fervent supporter of him casts doubt on the part he’ll play in his squad the next year.
Amid a financial crisis, Barcelona has signed a five-year sponsorship agreement:
According to Mundo Deportivo (via Forbes), Barcelona has secured a new five-year sponsorship agreement worth €56 million, marking a significant step towards financial stability. It is believed that this significant stream of cash would give the team the much-needed assistance it needs as they work to add new talent to their squad.
The first team shirt’s sleeve will be sponsored by the Dutch electronics giant Philips. The agreement between the two sides covers three seasons and includes an option for an extra two terms. Barcelona and Philips must agree to the potential extension into the fourth and fifth years for it to go into effect.
While the legal complications are resolved, Barca has reason to rejoice. The Catalans have been looking for a new sponsor since Beko’s sponsorship ended in 2021, leaving the sleeve empty. They now not only have a sponsor, but they also stand to make much more money from this arrangement than they did from their previous one with Beko, which was worth €19 million.
