In yesterday’s Spanish Cup 1/2 final match against Sevilla, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique was injured.
The Catalan club said today that the defender has injured the inner collateral ligament of his right knee and Pique will miss around three weeks, according to As.
That means he will probably not play in the Champions League against PSG (1-4 first leg) in Paris on 10 March, and he is also unlikely to feature in La Liga games against Osasuna, Huesca, and Sociedad.
Barсa currently has three central defenders – Clement Langlais, Samuel Umtiti, and Oscar Minges – at their disposal.
During yesterday’s match, Pique felt discomfort, but doctors examined his knee and allowed the player to continue playing. After the match, Pique limped off.
Gerard scored in the 94th minute to allow Barсa to level the score on aggregate and take the game into extra time and then advance to the Cup final.
The 34-year-old Catalan had previously missed almost 3 months due to a knee injury.
