Gerard Pique looks poised for a long spell on the sidelines after sustaining internal lateral and anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Barca confirmed later on Saturday that the seasoned center-back had sustained a sprain and further examination showed injury to both the interior lateral and anterior cruciate ligaments.
“Tests carried out this Sunday on Gerard Pique have shown that he has a grade three sprain in the internal lateral ligament and partial injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee,” a statement read.
“The evolution of the injury will condition his availability.”The bad news keeps mounting for boss Ronald Koeman, who will also be missing the versatile Sergi Roberto for two months due to a ruptured thigh muscle.
