Alex Baena’s seen with swollen cheekbone. Alex Baena of Villarreal was seen with a swollen cheekbone during an altercation with Federico Valverde of Real Madrid on Saturday. (April 8).
Jose Luis Morales and Samuel Chukwueze scored late goals for the Yellow Submarine to win 3-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Villarreal’s impressive comeback triumph, nevertheless, was overshadowed by a brawl between Baena and Valverde in the parking lot.
According to Marca, Valverde punched Baena for “messing with his family,” and according to his entourage, he had a good reason for doing so. Before the Real Madrid playmaker waited for the Spaniard in the visitors’ coach park, the two players apparently got into a fight.
Following his altercation with Valverde, El Chiringuito TV later caught Baena sporting a swollen cheekbone.
Players for Villarreal are reportedly taken aback by Valverde’s hostility. Baena is debating making a report at the police station. Due to the incident taking place in their section of the parking lot, his team is in possession of all the evidence.
A remark made by Baena following Madrid’s Copa del Rey victory over Villarreal in January is said to have enraged Valverde. According to the Spaniard’s entourage, the man instructed him to “cry now that your son is not going to be born.”
Similar remarks were allegedly directed at the Uruguayan during Villarreal’s victory on Saturday. In the parking lot, Valverde awaited him and warned him, “(You’re) not messing with (my) family.”
The Real Madrid contracts of Toni Kroos, 33, Luke Modric, 37, and Karim Benzema, 35, are about to expire. At the end of the season, the contracts for the three expire.
The three Madrid legends are currently in negotiations for new contracts, but manager Carlo Ancelotti provided an encouraging update on the situation, saying (via GOAL): “There is progress, they are talking. I continue to see Modric, Kroos, and Benzema. It is typical to experience variations in level throughout the season.”
Despite their advanced years, the Italian emphasized how crucial the group is to his team: “You have to evaluate them on what they do, not their age. Nobody in the world manages matches the way they do, despite the fact that they may not have the physical attributes of the younger players. That is not available on the transfer market.”
They will likely stay with Real Madrid after the summer, according to Ancelotti, who stated: “I assume that the three of them will continue at Real Madrid, but the day they are not there, we will have to hunt for another spine. Although they will do it differently than Kroos and Modric, our young players will likewise usher in a new era in Madrid.”
